It is Amrita Pritam's birthday anniversary today (Aug 31st).
She is one of my favourite poets. As an honour to her memory, am reciting one of her poems.
She wrote this poem for Imroz in the evening of her life, when she was ailing. Imroz was much younger to her, and a painter .She met him much later in life but shared a lasting relationship with him.
The original poem is in Punjabi, which is easy to follow, but still providing the Hindi translation.
